We offer 5 standard finishes: smooth, clear, light, medium and dark, with indoor and outdoor options to ensure the best protection possible. We also use Osmo to finish all our products, a company who create their finishes using carefully harvested natural oils (sunflower, soya, linseed and thistle oils) and hard waxes (carnauba and candelilla waxes) for their finishes. Their products contain only a small amount of solvents, meaning they’re better for us and the environment.

All scaffold boards are made from different trees, which means that they already possess different colours and characteristics before they become boards. Once they’re turned into scaffold boards they’re given stamps as identifiers and go through a long, hard life of use before coming to us for repurposing. We receive them in a whole range of states: paint splattered, rough, smooth, knotted, scarred, stained, clean and everything in between. This means that same stain on a different piece of wood is going to look slightly different! This is because every single board is unique, and we want our customers to celebrate that all of our finished products have their own character and personality.

Our raw finish is very simple: it retains all the rough edges, bumps, paint marks, stamps and more from the scaffold boards original use. This finish is perfect if you’ve got the equipment and tools to sand down yourself. Only available with the purchase of raw, reclaimed scaffold boards.

Our smooth finish is the base for all of our other finishes. This means that we carefully sand the scaffold boards down and remove all rough edges whilst retaining unusual knots, scarring and stamps and more from their original us.

This option is best for products being used indoors if you don’t plan on finishing it yourself. We are an Osmo stockist, so get in touch with us if you’re looking for eco-friendly finishes. We have a full range of samples available in our Bay F retail space if you’d like to take a closer look.

Our indoor and outdoor clear finish allows the all the natural characteristics of the reclaimed scaffold boards to shine through whilst providing protection from the elements. This coat of varnish will help to prolong the life of your product and.

Available in both indoor and outdoor stains, this finish offers a slightly darker tone than clear, helping to soften the natural tone of the timber and add a little warmth.

The middle tone, our medium stain is great for spaces which call for darker tones.

Available in both indoor and outdoor depending on where your product will be used, our dark stain offers a warm, rich chocolate option for those looking looking for something to blend in with existing wooden furniture both in the garden or indoors.
