Our ex-whisky barrel planters are all sourced locally from some of Scotland’s finest distilleries. Made from solid oak, these casks have a long history of use in distilleries all over the World. Here at Glasgow Wood we’re helping to extend the life of this valuable timber by re-selling them on to individuals and businesses who can make creative use from them. As tables for outdoor bars or used as water butt’s, there’s a lot to be done with our reclaimed whisky barrels.

These reclaimed whisky barrels have all been sourced from local distilleries around Scotland, ready to be used for a whole host of potential applications.

We’ve made our large whisky barrels into water butt’s for a previous project at Possil Community Garden (photographed). Capable of holding up to 110 gallons, they’re great for holding water for watering plants. Get in touch with us if this is something you’d be interested in.

Finish options:

Natural (steel bands and oak staves are left raw)
or Finished (metal bands painted silver, oak staves finished with UV oil protection)
Drainage holes in our whole whisky barrels are not standard. One hole is present in the centre of a single stave which was originally used in the distillation process. Let us know if you’d like drainage holes.

Colour Disclaimer

Each whisky barrel will be slightly different in colour and texture, and these are natural characteristics of our reclaimed casks due to the nature of wood. As a result, every item will appear slightly different. If you require matching items, please let us know and we’ll do what we can to ensure as close a match as possible. Everyone’s screens are also different which also affects the finish colours you see. We try to edit our photos to show the samples as life-like as possible, but we cannot guarantee the colour you see accurately portrays what your final purchase may look like.

1. Collect in-store

All orders are available for free collection from our South Street store — simply select collect at the delivery stage and we’ll let you know within 5-15 working days how and when to pick your order up. PLEASE NOTE: we will only hold your order 10 working days after we’ve notified you that it’s ready to collect.

2. Postcodes within Mainland UK

For postcodes located within Mainland UK, we either use a pallet or parcel courier service.

With our couriers, we aim to get your order to you as quickly and efficiently as humanly possible. Most of our orders should be delivered within 1-4 days of dispatch from us. We use a handful of carefully selected couriers based on availability, the size of your order and your location.

Our standard stock products, no matter which finish you choose, will generally be dispatched 5-15 working days (1-3 weeks) after the date of order. Each item is carefully made by our team of staff and volunteers, so it might take slightly longer compared to our off-the-shelf competitors.

Courier service items – PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A PRICE

Tea light holders, scaffold board shelving, planter boxes and other small to medium sized pieces are usually available for courier delivery. From dispatch, this service generally take 1-3 working days. Upon dispatch, we’ll provide you with tracking information which will give you live delivery updates.

Pallet delivery items – PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A PRICE

Oversized or large quantity orders, trough planters and the Whangie Mirror are examples of products which sit in this category, however there are limitations. These items are delivered via pallet and generally take 2-4 working days to arrive. We will contact you once your order is complete to arrange a delivery slot.

PLEASE NOTE: Where items are delivered by pallet, the couriers are under no obligation to deliver inside your premises. It is therefore your responsibility to transport the goods internally within your property. If you require a two-man service to bring your goods inside your home please ask about this service at the point of order.

3. Postcodes in the Higlands, Islands & Northern Ireland

If your delivery postcode is for Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands & Islands please provide us with the relevant delivery information when completing the enquiry form and we will be able to provide you with a delivery estimate. Delivery to these areas is likely to be 3-5 working days.
