We’re looking for a Product-focused Woodworker to join the Glasgow Wood team!

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Product-focused Woodworker to lead our workshop team. Primarily you’ll be developing products that appeal to customers during our quieter trading periods. It’ll also be essential that you have relevant experience in supporting and a diverse team of woodworkers and volunteers.

Job Description

Glasgow Wood is on a mission to strengthen our organisation, boost our trading income, and build a more sustainable future — and we’re looking for a skilled, creative woodworker to help make it happen.

About the Role

We face a clear challenge: seasonal dips in income during autumn and winter. Your job will be to help us turn that challenge into opportunity.

As our dedicated Product Development Woodworker, you will:

Design and develop new products that appeal to customers during our quieter trading periods
Work closely with our Volunteer Development Worker to involve a diverse range of volunteers
Support volunteers to build confidence, skills, and handson experience
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to identify product ideas that strengthen our income yearround
Contribute to a more resilient, sustainable organisation

This is a twoyear role giving you the time and space to make a real impact.

Salary

We are offering an annual salary of £21,850 for a 28-hour week, for 2 years. The role reports to the Managing Director and is based at our South Street Workshop.
