Christmas Presents with Purpose

The countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun. And while many of you will have planned your Christmas shopping months in advance, studies have shown that over one-third of people leave at least some of their Christmas shopping to the last minute. Which is why we’ve put together a handy list of places where you can get great, sustainable presents – whilst also supporting a worthy cause!

ApparelXchange – Circular Glasgow

Apparel Xchange

ApparelXchange is a social enterprise dedicated to school uniform reuse. Their mission is to provide all young people with an affordable, quality school uniform that doesn’t cost the earth. Hamper – Locavore

Locavore

Locavore on Victoria Road is the perfect place to pick up organic, ethical and sustainable food for Christmas. They aim to offer a wide selection so that people can choose to bypass the supermarket and get most of what they need at fair and affordable prices. Stock up on your Christmas grub here! They are also stocking organic wines in the run up to Christmas along with a selection of lovely hampers.

sdx — Blog — Dainty Dora

SDX

The Scottish Design Exchange (SDX) is a Community Interest Company with two not-for-profit shops in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

SDX supports independent makers, including social enterprises by offering them a place to sell their products. SDX currently works with over 150 Scotland-based artists and designers! The two stores are in large well-known shopping centres with massive footfall – therefore it’s a great platform to market ethical, sustainable products to the wider public.

There are some of our GWR products in the Buchanan Galleries store, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Clydeside Collective to open at the St Enoch Centre | Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

Clydeside Collective

The Clydeside Collective is proud to offer Glasgow a whole new kind of ethical shopping experience – one that has sustainability at its heart. The store brings together local artists, makers, and crafters, who each share a passion to reuse, recycle, reclaim, and resell items that may otherwise have been destined for landfill. Each of these eco-friendly creatives is committed to the single-use plastic-free pledge, making The Clydeside Collective a truly unique place to pick up a beautifully made gift.
