Glasgow Wood wins award and receives two nominations

A few weeks ago, Morgan Sindall gave us the Social Enterprise award at the 2023 Local Construction Supply Chain Awards!

And in case you missed it in August, we were shortlisted for Scottish Water’s Sustainable Development Award at the Glasgow Business Awards.

We work with Morgan Sindall to collect waste wood from various sites via our collections service.

This is our connection to the business and how we received the nomination. Danielle went along to the very glitzy ceremony at 200 St Vincent St, giving a very unexpected speech on behalf of the Glasgow Wood team!

She then received news that we’d been nominated in their National Awards, happening in Birmingham in November 2023. Danielle and Janet will be representing the team so fingers crossed for another win.

At the Glasgow Business Awards next week at the Glasgow Central Hilton Hotel, we’ll find out if we’ve won the award for Sustainable Development.

Sponsored by Scottish Water, we’ve been nominated alongside DataVita, Matthew Algie, Peel Ports Clydeport and WEEE Scotland!

Successful finalists had to demonstrate that they’re actively improving and adding value to their business through sustainable practices. Judges looked at evidence of efficiency savings in both internal operations and with product and/or service delivery/development.

Good luck to all other category nominations, happening in both Glasgow and Birmingham over the coming months. And most importantly, fingers crossed we can bring home a few additional wins!
