Project

Possil Concrete Garden

As part of the SAGE initiative, erz asked us to help them to bring this derelict and vacant land into temporary use for growing fresh produce.

As a modular infrastructure system, each component can easily be assembled and demounted where ever it’s built. Designed by erz, the modular system creates a strong sense of place in what are often incoherent environments.

By using reclaimed timber to build these structures, the Concrete Garden won the Low Cost Project Award and the Chairman’s Award for Architecture at the Scottish Design Awards 2011. It was also shortlisted for the AJ Small Projects Award and AJ Small Projects Sustainability Award 2011.
