Whisky barrel water butts: sourced from local Scottish distilleries, transformed by us into simple rainwater collection tanks. Made from solid oak, these casks have had a long history of use in distilleries all over the World. As standard, all of our water butts come with a tap and bands are secured with tenter hooks. Choose from optional extras including a removable lid and scaffold board stand.
Dimensions: please note these are approximate dimensions, every water butt varies up to 50mm.

We’ve made our giant whisky barrels into water butts, capable of holding up to 110 gallons of rainwater. Ideal for anyone looking to make use of the abundance of Scottish rainwater we have!
Add-on details:
- Tap: our taps are sourced externally, but they are still made from timber.
- Stand: made from any selection of reclaimed timber, see photographed. When choosing unfinished for your barrel, your base will also remain unfinished. For finished, your stand will be painted black as standard.
- Lid: made from a genuine a whisky barrel lid which is completely sanded, everything is secured together underneath and 2 stave handles are fitted. When you choose a finished barrel, your lid will also be finished.
Finish options:
- Natural: steel bands and oak staves and tap are left raw, and the inside and top edge are sanded down with a wire brush for safety. Optional extras are also left raw (sanded smooth), with no finish.
- Finished: metal bands painted silver, inside and top edge is sanded down, oak staves and tap finished with UV oil protection. This will apply to all optional extras.

Delivery
We aim to get your order to you as quickly and efficiently as humanly possible. Most of our orders should be delivered within 1-4 days of dispatch from our workshop, depending on the delivery method. Please note that larger pieces of furniture will be delivered assembled unless you request that they be delivered flat packed. Visit our FAQ’s page for more information on this.
Throughout Scotland, we fulfil most deliveries ourselves, but also use a handful of carefully selected couriers based on availability, the size of your order and your location.
Once your order has been placed and is ready to be delivered, we’ll contact you to arrange delivery. This is different from your due date. See our delivery FAQ’s for more information.
Stock Products
Our standard stock products, no matter which finish you choose, we aim for them to be ready for delivery or collection within 5-40 working days (1-8 weeks) after the date of order. Each item is carefully made by our team of staff and volunteers, so it might take slightly longer compared to our off-the-shelf competitors.

Please note these are estimates and will depend on chosen dimensions and the number of items in your order.

Delivery options
1. Collect in-store
All orders are available for free collection from our South Street store — simply select collect at the delivery stage and we’ll let you know how and when to pick your order up. PLEASE NOTE: we will only hold your order 28 working days after we’ve notified you that it’s ready to collect.
2. GW Delivery (postcodes within Scotland)
We’re able to deliver to most postcodes throughout Scotland, as long as we have capacity. This includes the Highlands & Islands. Prices start at £25 and are priced based on your postcode and the size of your order. Please tell us at the enquiry stage if this is how you’d like your item/s delivered, and we’ll do our best to arrange this service for you.

3. Courier Delivery
When we don’t have capacity or it’s not cost effective for us to deliver your items, we’ll send them via courier. For postcodes located within Mainland UK, we either use a pallet or parcel courier service. Prices vary widely depending on your location and order size.
Courier service items – PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A PRICE
Tea light holders, scaffold board shelving, planter boxes and other small to medium sized pieces are available for courier delivery. From dispatch, this service generally take 1-3 working days. Upon dispatch, we’ll provide you with tracking information which will give you live delivery updates.
Pallet delivery items – PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A PRICE
Oversized or large quantity orders, trough planters and the Whangie Mirror are examples of products which sit in this category, however there are limitations. These items are delivered via pallet and generally take up to 7 working days to arrive. We will contact you once your order is complete to arrange a delivery slot. Please note that larger pieces of furniture will be delivered assembled unless you request that they be delivered flat packed.
PLEASE NOTE: Where items are delivered by pallet, the couriers are under no obligation to deliver inside your premises. It is therefore your responsibility to transport the goods internally within your property. If you require a two-man service to bring your goods inside your home please ask about this service at the point of order.
3. Postcodes in the Highlands, Islands & Northern Ireland
If your delivery postcode is for Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands & Islands please provide us with the relevant delivery information when completing the enquiry form and we will be able to provide you with a delivery estimate. Delivery to these areas is likely to take up to 7 working days.
4. European Delivery
